Spates Retires As Farmville Town Manager

The Town Manager in Farmville has suddenly retired. Town Council held a meeting this week at which they unanimously approved a retirement request from Gerald Spates. He submitted a a retirement letter Monday. Spates has been with the town for 44 years and has been Town Manager for 41 of those years. Scott Davis has been appointed Interim Town Manager. The process for choosing the next town will be discussed in the near future.
